This is the SD1996AC which pays tribute to the one of the most successful diver watches ever, the SKX007.
As Seiko phase out the SKX007s they are becoming harder to find and prices are beginning to rise.
The Steeldive SD1996AC with its hand winding and hackable (the second hand stops so you can set your watch to a time signal) NH35 movement is, arguably, better than the SKX007s movement - first produced in the early 1990s - and which you can neither hand wind nor hack.
We say arguably because there are a lot of very passionate Seiko devotees who will disagree with us. They are wrong and they can argue as much and as loudly as they like, but there is a famous Japanese proverb: “The wind howls, but the mountain remains still.”
